My Immersion Cooker now trips the GFI shutdown function in my circuit breaker–anyone had this problem–seems ok when plugged into old style GFI plug --does not trip but does trip the new GFI box based circuit breaker–

No. I have not. I did get the unit open. 
If you dismantled the unit, you probably voided any warranty you had. I strongly recommend contacting support. From what i understand, they’re near miracle workers.
