# Anova has a new solution to the bricked firmware update, and the joke is on us

Anova support has just reached out with a new solution to ovens bricked by the 28 July firmware update. The solution involves sticking some aluminium foil to the oven’s screen to keep it awake. When I read it, I thought it must be 1st April, but no, Anova are serious.

Its hard to retain any faith in a company that tells us to follow these instructions;
