# Cannot achieve preheat water temperature

Color me disappointed! My first Anova use was an absolute fail. I started with a Cephalon pot full of 60 degree tap water, and, after an hour the temp had only increased to 69. I decided to try again with hot (110 degree) water. Then I watched as the water temp DECREASED. Same result with 129 degree water. After 2 hours, my water temp is 89.6 degree F. What’s wrong?
