# Descale: How long can I wait?

I am in the middle of a cook – still have about 14 hours left – and the Descale light just came on. Do I need to pause the cook and descale, or will it hold until I’m done?

Thanks @colewagoner. I ordered some descaler (should be here tomorrow) and I’ll get 'er done.
