# Is this steam exhaust normal?

Hey @inbaru! Welcome. Yes, this is entirely normal! The Oven is venting moisture as it is released from your food. Food is mostly water, so as it cooks it will release. The APO is keeping your cavity dry!

Yes, whenever you use the steam function. It disappears when you turn it off to 0.

I’ve been looking for an answer to this. I was making pizza at 482\* with steam set to “off” and steam was just pouring out of the oven at the lower right hand of the door. So apparently this is normal, and is not the steam from the water tank, but moisture from the food being wicked away?

Yes, this is moisture from your food being cooked off and vented
