I recently got the APO 2.0 after 5 years great service with my APO 1.0, so I’m used to the app, the oven and firmware updated to APO 1.0. There were 2 updates I had to apply to the APO 2.0 the day I got it, and those went fine. However, last night there was a new firmware update. I applied it and the oven showed 100% complete. I left it for about 30 minutes and when I came back the APO 2.0 screen was black and unresponsive. This morning it was still black and unresponsive. At that point I unplugged / plugged it in again. I got the Anova logo on the APO 2.0 screen, then it went blank and the oven was as unresponsive and it was before the power cycle. Any help deeply appreciated. ---

Same here!!! Hope the fix comes quick !! Is there a way to terminal into the „tablet“ or smth? Since no buttons can be found what about factory reset ?? Maybe inside or outside ?? Strange ---

Same. It seems like anova pulled the update. The support got back to me today. At least it is still reachable via wifi/ping 🤷‍♂️ ---

Same here! I woke up this morning to find my Anova Oven 2.0 (EU version) display completely blank and unusable. The app shows that an update is available but I can’t apply it. Seems like they bricked quite a handful of ovens :// Why was there no option to disable automatic updates anyways?!! ---

Did you get a solution? I have the same problem with my brand new oven and I am in Germany. Customer support doesn´t react yet. I´m very disappointed! ---

Nothing from Anova support yet. I submitted my support ticket 24 hours ago. Unusually, I got _two_ acknowledgment emails: - one wast the usual 48 hours to respond, - the other, which arrived at the same time, stated 3 days to respond. I’m guessing support is slammed and they are giving themselves some wiggle room to diagnose and fix the problem. First rule of support crisis management is not to guess or make promises you can’t follow up on. I had my APO 1.0 for almost 5 years and never had a problem with it. I used it every day - it was the reason I upgraded to the APO 2.0. But I’m very disappointed by this situation. The silence will only increase the anger of the effected customers 😔 ---

There’s still silence on the support side, has anyone found a way to reset the oven manually or anything else? can’t imagine how many ovens they bricked … ---

There seems to be no physical button on the oven or any accessible usb programming port. Thankfully it’s still pingable, so they might be able to trigger some recovery or access the ovens remotely. Not sure, but this radio silence from Anova is infuriating ---

Just received the APO 2.0. Unpacked it, put it in the spot that the APO 1.0 used to occupy. Ran the startup routine (burning off the manufacturing residues), then it updated the firmware, now it doesn’t work. Disappointed doesn’t begin to describe my feelings and my girlfriend who payed for it is volcanic. I’ve no idea if or when we’ll be able to cook in it. ---

This means Anova still hasn’t pulled the update 2 days after it has been reported causing ovens to brick. How’s that possible…they can’t possibly be this negligent ---

Got answer from support: ”Thank you for reaching out. The issue appears to be related to the recent firmware update. Please hold off on any action for now, as we are actively working on a fix. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding in the meantime.” Not much help, but we need to wait. ---

I got a similar response yesterday, too. I would like to think that Anova anticipated this kind of worst case scenario and has some kind of “recovery mode” in the APO 2.0 to allow for a recovery from a failed firmware update, like iPhones or Android devices do. A black screen does not fill me with confidence this is the case. ---

My oven gets somehow ”online” when I plug it in. It’s not answering to any commands from the app but visible still… ---
