Hi all, I bought a new sous vide and I was trying it out for the first time in a pot, when about 1 -2 minutes into turning it on at 160F, there was a pop sound and a burning smell. I immediately turned it off and removed the sous vide machine from the pot. There was no smoke at all and when i turned it on again, the display still worked fine. I am not sure what caused it but I have to mention that the machine was resting at the base of my pot (do not have a big enough pot yet, but the water level did not cross the max line). Can anyone advise what I should do. ---

Resting on the bottom of the pot would not, or at least should not have caused it. I’d suggest the best thing would to be to contact Anova Support. ---
