Winter weekends are when I finally slow down in the kitchen and let a meal take its time, instead of rushing something together after work. I like starting something in the late morning, then letting it cook gently while the house fills with the smell of dinner. There are a few comfort meals my household asks for again and again once the weather turns cold, and they have become part of our winter routine. What I enjoy most is how unhurried it feels, with plenty of time to set the table properly and actually sit down together. What slow weekend meals do you return to in winter, and which comfort dishes does your household ask for again?
