Hi, early last week I stopped seeing any of the controls or numbers on the oven (just the start/stop button) and tried contacting anova, but they have yet to respond. Today the display/controls are totally out. Wifi still works so I’m not totally out of luck.
Is there a fix for this somewhere? Maybe a loose cable that only requires minor oven surgery to fix?
I should note that power cycling the oven will bring the display back for a short period of time.
Just happened to me today too. Oven still works from the app, but the display is completely dead.
Submitted a support ticket to Anova, we’ll see what happens.
Normally it is unplugging the item and letting it sit for a bit to discharge any saved energy in capacitors then powering up. It is analogous to rebooting a computer.
Add me to the list of users affected by this display problem. Same issue of blank display when I open the door. Unplugging and replugging it in fixes it till I open the door again.
if anyone else is interested in parts, the control board works and i can remove whatever else you might want. it would be a shame to just scrap it. send me a message and i’ll see if i can help!
There have been a number of reports that opening and closing the door of the APO eventually causes the wires in the hinge at the lower left to wear out, causing the handle controls not to work. This can be fixed at home if you are modestly handy.
