It's it okay to put the precision cooker right on the pot bottom without clam?

Is it okay to put precision cooker on the bottom of pot without the clam?

I think it would be kind of a haddock to keep it from falling over and you’d have to mussel it around a bit.  Maybe if you wanted to try it just for the halibut though…

Just a thought, but if the PC was canted (and possibly unstable) I'd be concerned about where the flow of water was being directed.  Not necessarily a big deal if the only issue is poor water circulation, but what happens if the water starts spraying out of the water bath?  :-O
