I cooked a beautiful 3 day beef rib dinner and when my wife was breaking down the equipment the clamp broke.
I have been an original supporter of Anova and as such my machine is the original … the big ol’ black top, the one button to start it, and the dial for setting the temperature.
The clamp they have is for Anova 3.0 so the obvious question is : will it fit my machine, and if not what WILL fit my machine???
My clamp broke a year or two ago, likely for being called a ‘clamp’ as I clamped it around the PC causing the thermal stresses. The new one was too big and that saved it. I linked four zip ties together around it at the lowest plastic surface, making four nubs that hang on the holder. Works fine so far, and don’t rust, bust or collect dust (it fails safe and drains to the bilge - basic requirements for a sailor approved device).
@DarcSceptor the Anova 3.0 clamp will absolutely not fit your machine, the 3.0 is much slimmer than the OG model. I’d certainly take a look at eBay to see if there’s one for sale, but maybe you can just fashion something using Home Depot parts if you’re handy.
Also contact the not very good above cs, with your serial no, and get a price for the replacement that they did have for pre-existing general sv sticks.
the archive has a plethora of fixes and alt clamps, some pretty and some not so.
I "think “I even wrote the glues that are ok for that plastic type if you prep it properly, it worked with mine, and I got a spare in case.
Careful though, the aforementioned CS personnel are pretty much retarded not worth the air they breathe when it comes to actual assistance, knowledge, ability to get something done, it is a roulette wheel game of chance that I can submit a comment for the past year or longer due to the 10% discount ad blocking my screen of my tablet, ..yes I brought it up with the retards, …nothing!
