I have a Precision Oven 2.0 (AN950-20, EU model) bought in September 2025, and I would like to know whether anyone else has run into this.
I was moving the oven on the counter. The upper fresh water tank was fully seated at the time. During the move it came out of the oven on its own, fell to the floor and cracked. It leaks and can no longer hold water.
I have since checked the mechanism and it does click in properly, so the latch itself is not broken. What strikes me is the direction of the release. The manual says a tank is released by pushing it toward the back of the oven. When you push the oven forward, the tank’s own mass pushes it backward relative to the case, which is the same motion. So the gesture that releases the tank and the load produced by moving the appliance are the same thing, and with up to 2.4 litres in there that is a fair amount of mass behind it.
The knock-on effect is worse than I expected. With the tank empty or removed the oven refuses to start any cook at all, including a dry 180 C bake with Steam % set to OFF. So a cracked reservoir takes out the whole appliance, not just the steam functions.
Questions for other 2.0 owners:
- Has your tank ever come out while moving or repositioning the oven?
- Did it survive, and if not, how did you go about getting a replacement?
- Does anyone remove and empty the tanks as a habit before moving the oven? I did not find anything in the manual suggesting it, and I would happily do that from now on if it is the accepted practice.
I do have a ticket open with support (1041956), so I am not trying to duplicate that here. Mainly I want to know whether this is a one-off or something other owners have hit, and whether a retention clip or a line in the manual would be worth suggesting.
