Anova sealer pro accessory hose vacuuming

Hello All
I just got a Pro Sealer which I am happy with. But had some issues with the accessory hose not sealing jars but as I read here you have to really push the end into the sealer ( even though worried I may be damaging the device). But I have noticed the hose cycle cannot be stopped manually as you can with sealing bags. I just have to wait for the cycle to finish and pressing the hose action button does nothing. Is this supposed to be this way or should you be able to stop it.
Thanks for all your help.

Just noticed the port is labelled external pulse , so presumably it should start and stop like the other pulse button. But if you have any thought I would appreciate hearing from you.
ps have asked Anova support but they have been taking a while to answer.

It seems the accessory hose should allow you to manually stop the cycle like the pulse function for 1win bags, especially with the port labeled “external pulse.” If pressing the button does nothing, it may not be functioning correctly. Pushing the hose firmly into the port is normal, but don’t force it too much. Waiting for Anova’s response is best, but it could be a malfunction if the button doesn’t stop the cycle as expected.

I have trouble getting any suction thru the external accessory hose. I have pushed it into the port as far as it will possible go and still nothing. Any ideas?

Hose with adapter fitting, correct adapter fitting? There is a spring loaded flap at the bottom of the port, which spring force must be overcome by a long enough adapter.

I thought to use another major brand’s external vacuum accessories, not noticing the slight difference in the adapter. I cut and rejoined the two tubes. I vacuum the air out of my sauerkraut bottles with their Mason jar lid adapter.
