Brand new Precision Oven - Unable to pair

After waiting months for this and many missed delivery promises, it finally arrived.

However, I’ve given up after 5 hours of trying to pair it and get it connected to my network. Clearly these guys can’t do software. Even this forum does not work properly - had to write this in another app and paste the text into the comments.

I tried everything to pair my oven, even created a separate 2G network with a separate router. Oven does not seem to be broadcasting anything. Frankly it’s ridiculous that you can’t just scan for an SSID and enter the password using a simple an onscreen keyboard. At least then it could do a firmware update if needed. So because of the crappy failed pairing process there’s no way to connect it to a network so I suspect the oven will need to be returned. This is 101 error and fundamental designing issue. This is big issue which should have been thoroughly tested.

I’m a cybersecurity professional, if I can’t get it to work I don’t know who can. I’ve used hundreds of cheap bluetooth devices in my time, and never failed to get them to work one way or another. Even my cheap home thermostats have other ways to connect to a network.

I’ve contacted support, but have not heard back. Unless they come back and get this sorted quickly, I would advise anybody thinking about buying one of these to avoid and buy something else - at least for now. This is a great same because the overall build and feel of the oven is very good.

However, considering how long these ovens have been around I’m concerned about their technical abilities.

I have much the same story as yourself, waited and then couldn’t connect, however I skipped the connection process and ran heating element burn in process through the manual menu, then went back to pairing and it connected straight away no issues.

It may be a lucky coincidence but worth a try. Am not disappointed after the initial frustration.

hope it helps.

Well, this thing but more to the point this company is a complete joke. Nearly a week of back and forth and they’ve provided nothing that solves this problem other than stupid and insulting things to try that make absolutely no sense. The latest is that they wanted me to record and send a video of the paring process which I did. They then replied with a message that said I need to do an immediate firmware update WHAT !!!

I don’t understand who they have in their support teams, but clearly they have no comprehension of basic computer networking that any 10 year old would already know. If the device never initiates a pairing process, how an earth can it be configured to connect to a network unless its hardwired - which it can’t be. Shipping a unit of the size without an RJ45 hardwired connection is frankly ridiculous.

I’ve just given them an ultimatum - Although to be honest, I’m not sure that its s fit for purpose anyway. If they can’t quickly resolve step 1 for a new owner, I can’t see how they will be able to assist with any further issues. This is such a shame, a great concept and design that’s been ruined by shear incompetence and their inability to communicate. I understand, that this is software (I work in the industry) but this is not really their core problem.
