Rubber tip on clamp has split

I bought my Anova back in February, and as I was preparing to use it today, I noticed that the rubber tip on the part of the clamp which attaches to the pot, has a big crack in it. I’m a bit worried now that the metal part will eventually break through and could scratch the enamel pot I use.

I am a little surprised as I expected it to be more durable, and I always take care not to overtighten it. I’ve included a quick photo I took.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.
