Okay I think we are like minded and I have 18 year old twins. I do all the cooking and I love onions. When my kids were young, I would serve anything they refused again and again …being satisfied if they only tasted them. They are very open minded young gourmands now. Unfortunately that means they scoff at Kraft Dinners, which as soon-to-be college kids they may encounter, and should be okay with in a pinch, but I have created culinary monsters. The other thing is, I was making my son eat shellfish and squash and it turned out he had a real food allergy to those foods. He has trouble with mushrooms, liver and raw tomato, still only tastes them, and that is okay. He likes to try the mushrooms, but he can’t eat much. I have to trust him.
