Anova culinary 1000W with wifi impellor spins slow or not at all

Hi Anova

Ive read many posts about this issue but no fixes other than unplugging it.

It gets unplugged after each use. It was a Father’s day gift from my son (who has since passed away) so I have no idea where he got it but can honestly say I’ve had it for 5+ years.

Simply said, my most recent use I notice the temperature was much higher thn I set (145/180) and there was no circulation.

I tried the reset but the impellor turned very slow and easy to stop with fingers (flow guide removed).

Is there any hope of a fix for this>

Thanks

The only thing I can think of is that perhaps you have too much built-up hard water scale on something. When you remove the protective sleeve, you’ll see a water level sensor, a temperature sensor, the frame, and of course the spinner. Do you also have significant hard water deposits?

Thanks for the reply
Very little deposits, just some scale on one of the tubes, it came clean with a paper towel. I sprayed some multi-lube (same as wd40) where the impellor shaft joins the motor and now it works. Strange because the shaft spun freely by hand in both directions before, just not when it was powered on. You could hear and feel the motor turning but the shaft struggled or didnt move. Seems ok now…?
