I have one concern though and that is the noise from the nova is this normal? Sound like a rattle coming from inside the unit

Sometimes the impeller paddle hits the side of the housing. Try removing the cover and gently center it.
This is the only moving part so if this does not resolve your issue Customer Support would be your next call.
