I wouldn’t. While the plastic packaging is undoubtedly ‘food safe’ we do not know its thermal integrity. Products that are purchased vacuum packed often have moisture absorbing pads packed in with them, which would be best removed prior to cooking. You would be advised to repackage it before giving it a swim.

Also if there is any label and glue on the outside it will come off and make a terrible mess.

Thanks for the reply. I’ll make sure I take them off if I try to cook it that way. After all my research I’m not doing the spiral cut, I’ll do a whole boneless and slice it myself.
