I suppose the same question could be rephrased to ask what’s the machine’s capacity?
I ordered a Precision Pro after I broke one of the latches on my old vac/sealer. And I’m certain the 3.5" roll I’ve been using won’t fit. But I’ll probably end up using it anyway.
This forum isn’t monitored by Anova, & their CS people are next to useless, so unless someone chimes in, it likely won’t be answered, sorry.
You tried reddit?
You are most welcome, people get “mardy” here not getting an answer from anova, which is why I try to intercept a few & point in the direction of other possibilities.
The sous vide reddit is good but nasty, & very repetitious, but if you get the detail you need, maybe worth visiting, just be prepared for anything at any time.
If I really want to see the sparky in people, I need only innocently post a question along with an example of my work to a photo forum. They come out like school of piranha eager and ready to point out the flaws. Never mind it was a professional production.
The Anova Pro that I just got came with a roll that’s just under 2 ½”. From there, I set out in search of biodegradable rolls which I found on eBay. I got two at 11"X20’ for $10.
Not much to tell, other than my strange brand of luck. The brand of rolls/bags is VestaEco. The box I bought is the only one I’ve seen that explicitly says “Biodegradable.” There’s a small smattering of this brand on Amazon. But I only saw “Compostable”. If I weren’t looking, I wouldn’t have known there were four or five categories of “compostable.”
The biggest error I made was in trying to guess the diameter of a roll from the 20Ft. length. It doesn’t work with these because they’re kind of …fluffy. Other than that, they’re a slightly greenish color and have an area for writing on. And a different texture than I’m used to. If, after I’ve had a chance to use them and find anything noteworthy, I’ll report back here.
