Where is the Android App. Updates from Anova would be welcomed

My Anova arrived today in Vancouver, and I had to pay an extra $33 at the door to receive it - $17 in actual taxes, the rest in fees to FedEx (thanks for that, Anova), so I get it set up to test, go to the Android store to find the Anova app… and I all find is a 3rd party app that costs money and is not the app I was expecting.

Some research and a) no Anova Android app though one was clearly promised, at launch, by Anova, and b) no word at all from Anova on when the Android App will be coming.

So what’s going on folks. I expected the app to be available once the machine was shipped. It’s one of the reasons I backed this project. I have a Nomiku sous vide already but wanted one with app connectivity for calibration, monitoring, recipe storing and the like. What’s going on, Anova?

Have you read through the kickstarter updates? They mentioned the delay on the app there a while back.

No I haven’t see that. If it’s buried in some update or a long time ago, I think it’s important for Anova to keep their backers completely updated on the Apps. I don’t know about anyone else but it’s the primary reason I backed their project; I already own a Nomiku, but wanted something with more customizations and connectivity. This is why I backed Anova. I’d like to hear progress on the Android App and when we can expect it.

They did what you wanted. In Update #23. 7 days ago. It said it will launch in about 2 weeks. That’s about 1 week from now.

They mentioned that they would soon update us on the status of the app in Update #22.

Are you sure they’re not just talking about the iOS app, which they’ve mentioned is coming first? In Update 18, they only mentioned the “iPhone app” and just two obscure references to “app” since. In the comments on updates, unless I missed it, they’ve ignored questions about the Android app.

Is it too much to ask for some clarity and a timeline on the Android app? Instead we have to go hunt through old updates, read through comments for obscure mentions, and when you do find them, they seem to only refer to the iOS app.

I don’t know CoffeeGeek.
I’ll buy you an eggnog if it will help.
Happy Holidays.

Be thankful…I know one of the stretch goals was a WP app…but I won’t be getting impatient with that until, say, 2016.

@CoffeeGeek‌ The following post was made on these forums a while back by someone that is presumably on the Anova staff but I’m not positive about that. http://community.anovaculinary.com/discussion/comment/660/#Comment_660 I have no idea if the Dec 15th for iOS, Dec 30th for Android, and Jan 15th for WP estimates have slipped at all in the 2 weeks since that comment but it was and still is one of the best app timeline estimates that I’ve seen.

for me dont way it was working smooth on my android phone when it was running on android version 6.0.1 however as I have updated to android version 7.1.1 whenever now I am opening the app it only loads a blank screen on the start up and crashes after a while automatically. How do I fix it?
