No-one seems to have written it here yet.
(i’m still not getting an answer to my c / f query)
Anova announced (not here of course) that the phase out of app support for the early gen SV sticks has been dropped after all the furore, don’t count this as a “forever fix” but it does give OG units a second wind at least.
I wouldn’t give a rats ass IF they gave me 1/10th c control before packing it in, but they didn’t think about pushing that out to old units.
Well, it is the available setting via the app, without it it is increments of 0.5c per scroll notch.
If you are using recipes & you cannot input the correct temp you are left wondering what you missed out on only being able to get close.
It also opens people up to potential litigation (& the hassle of fighting it off)
But if I pay for something that is advertised as a “scientific instrument” & then those setting are pulled from beneath me, i’m pissed, who said I was interested in 0.5c accuracy when I bought it, which also may infer miss-selling by the vendor.
If i’m doing anything with Brew In The Bag spirit alcohol I don’t want to have to switch settings & utilise Fahrenheit to dial in a brews accuracy, or have any doubt as to if I took a wrong turn.
If someone has tested a recipe & it has good ratings why would you want to not be able to “nail it” temp wise …that is how Anova markets itself, how it’s claims for restaurant quality achieved at home is run as the key to sales.
I’m least likely to F up in my own language of measurement of C
To save me time, remind me in what increments of F the same unit set to fahrenheit works at from the scroll wheel / digital press n’ hold.
