Why not? It won’t add much flavour but you will likely feel better using it.
Reapply after drying the chicken before you sear it, if you do.
Have you tried SV thighs? They have so much more flavour. Make your own boneless/skinless with your kitchen shears. Takes less than a minute per and the trim makes a rich stock if you have been saving chicken wing tips.
Many people are reluctant to bone chicken parts or a whole chicken.Here is an old Jacques Pepin video on boning an entire chicken. There is actually very little knife work involved. You can also apply his technique to legs, thighs and wings if that is all you have.
