Hello, new here. Just got my Anova Precision Cooker. I remember from reading the NY times article that one could use teflon bags instead of Ziplocs. Where do you buy teflon bags? I could not find any on Amazon. Should I not be concerned about using Ziploc bags for cooking? Components of the plastic leaching or contaminating the food, for example. TIA!

Plastic safety

Hello everyone, I just recently received my Anova cooker and started doing some research into which plastic bags are safe to cook in and after reading through a dozen websites or so, I’m pretty confused. On the one hand, it seems like there is a consensus on the safety of many (perhaps most) types of plastic bags used by vacuum sealers. Some people like to use silicone bags or mason jars as alternatives. There are a lot of ways to work around plastic if that is a big concern for you
