I’m hoping to be able to get the water started on my drive home from work in the evening…
Yeah, the new WiFi version on the PC can be started remotely with your smartphone. Currently only iOS is supported, in beta.

Thanks for information!Once the PC connected to home wifi network and pair with smartphone, is the iOS apps can remotely control the PC outside via 3G/ 4G network?
That is correct. The high level process is:
Download Anova WiFi iOS app
Connect iOS device to your WiFi network
Turn on iOS Bluetooth
Plug in the PC
Fire up the Anova WiFi app
The app will detect your PC using Bluetooth
The app will ask you for your WiFi network password
Once entered, the PC will be connect to your WiFi network and will be accessible via the iOS app as long as your iOS device is connected to the Internet. That includes any network outside of your home; cellular or wireless
I haven’t turned my PC on from work, my wife gets home before me, so she gets it set up, but I have checked, from work, to make sure she turned it on
I have started, stopped, changed temps and time all from 35 miles away via my iPhone. I have even changed the scale from F to C remotely…
