Moved, I can no longer connect to Precision Cooker

I have had the same WiFi Precision Cooker, registered, since 2019. We recently moved and I have a different password for my WiFi. The App would not allow me to change the WiFi settings so I deleted the device and tried to add it again. It will no longer connect even though it says it is connect.

Is there any solution to this?

There was another thread which said that special characters in passwords aren’t recognized. Anova will not connect to wifi

The previous response about needing a password with no special characters is correct. It’s really absurd that the developers were so sloppy that it is even an issue. I also believe WiFi needs to be 2.4Ghz and not 5Ghz. I also found it easier to use an older phone/tablet to set up the WiFi because my newer phone was using a VPN which seemed to cause an issue. I don’t know if it matters but I also gave my Anova a static IP address after it was setup.

Good luck!

I couldn’t connect my v1 at all, none of the recommendations worked.
According to other members, it’s Anova cutting off the support for these devices, which is just frustrating and disappointing.

Same problem. Their support asked me to try various things that led me to using a different very simple router, a 3-letter WiFi passkey, 2.4Ghz-only WiFi, and an older iPhone. I get a Connected message but the app or the cooker (I don’t know which) immediately forgets the passkey and makes me start over when I try to control the cooker from the app. They told me that the cooker connects to the Internet and so does the app, which means the app does not directly connect to the app. Maybe that makes sense in the overall scheme of things, but in this scheme it lets them obsolete your cooker. They offered me a $25 discount on a new one. Yeah, right. My cooker is fine, and the minor convenience of the app isn’t worth it. But I have learned a lesson: don’t buy any of their products again.

Speaking of the $25 off, check this thread out.

There is a specific issue when using an iPhone, I had a similar issue sometime ago, not just with anova but also other smart things when I changed my home network.

I figured out that the wifi assist functionality interferes with it, you may want to try turning it off before you start reconnecting your precision cooker

Then turn it back on and all works fine.
